Volunteer

• If you are feeling ill, particularly with symptoms related to COVID-19, please contact MedWish to cancel or reschedule your volunteer shift.
• Individuals are not required to wear a mask with the following exceptions:
  • If you have been in close contact with someone who is experiencing symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19 within 10 days.
  • If you have returned to volunteering after 5 days of isolating due to a positive COVID-19 test, you must wear a mask at all times for 5 additional days.
  • Please note, you may only volunteer to work on day six following a positive test if your symptoms have been improving and you are fever free for 24 hours.
• If you are unvaccinated and have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or a presumed case of COVID-19, please do not visit MedWish during the quarantine period.

Please practice basic cough and sneeze etiquette, and practice good hand hygiene:

• Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
• If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hand. Discard used tissues in waste basket, and wash your hands afterward.
• Clean your hands often with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60-95% alcohol or wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Soap and water should be used preferentially if hands are visibly dirty.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
